Job description

We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Doha LLC in Qatar for:

E&I COMMISSIONING SUPERVISOR

This is an opportunity for you to implement your knowledge and skills as E&I Commissioning Supervisor. You shall be intimately familiar with codes and standards related to the discipline and shall ensure that the design, fabrication and installation of the instrumented systems meets the requirements of the applicable codes and standards issued by the following:

American Petroleum Institute (API)
American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
Instrument Systems and Automation Society (ISA)
American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
International Standards Organization (ISO)

Your main duties will be to:

*Process control and measurement principles; Installation and testing of pneumatic and electronic protective systems;

*Installation and testing of pneumatic and electronic control and/or monitoring systems including PLC and DCS based systems;

*Installation and testing of fire and gas detection and protection systems;

*Installation and testing of instrument air distribution systems;

*Requirements for installation and testing of electronic instruments in hazardous areas;

*Calibration and testing of equipment and systems;

*Installation standards and codes of practice;

*Environmental aspects of oil and gas design;

*Safety aspects of design (e.g. HAZOP and risk analysis techniques);

*Quality assurance and control requirements of the installation and testing;

*MV & LV switchgear, transformers, motors, cables and other electrical equipment for medium voltage and low voltage systems;

*Requirements for installation and testing of electrical items in hazardous areas;

*Protective relay equipment application and testing;
Environmental aspects of oil and gas design;

*Safety aspects e.g. HAZOP and risk analysis techniques;
Quality assurance;

*Electrical protection systems. In addition the E & I Commissioning Engineer, shall:

- maintain accountability and responsibility of daily SITE activities;

- work closely with CONTRACTOR‘s Engineering Department to ensure compliance to codes and standards;

- work closely with the Construction Team to determine the daily priorities for system/subsystem completion;

- ensure continuous and accurate updating of ICAPS as the instrumentation works progress;

- lead the preparation, planning and execution of pre-commissioning and commissioning activities;

- consistently adhere to the Project Objectives and Priorities, Safety, Regulatory / Environmental, Quality and Schedule expectations;

 

 

Profile

 

ideally, you will have a Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Instrument or other relevant degree.

You must have a minimum of 10 years' of experience ideally within the oil/gas industry. The E & I Commissioning Supervisor shall demonstrate his/her previous experience with OPERCOM / lCAPS and the candidate shall report directly to the Commissioning Superintendent.

You must have a good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as, an advance level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office. You will need excellent communication and presentation skills in both written and verbal English.
