Job description

We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Qatar for a:
Inventory Controller
Job Purpose:

This is an opportunity for you to be responsible and to provide your knowledge and experience in commodity materials.

Your main duties will be to:-
- Understand and follow plant safety standards and procedures.
- Knowledge of commodity Materials, like valves, flanges, gaskets, piping, nuts, bolts, etc.
- Good knowledge of piping materials, related specifications.
- Excellent organization and documentation skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Strong data entry and analytical skills.
- Must be willing and capable of quickly learning new office related and data entry software.
- Physically capable of climbing ladders, climbing in and out of various vehicles (forklifts, trucks, cranes etc.)
- Familiar with chemical segregations and storage.
- Able to read and understand MSDS for proper chemical handling.
- Physically capable of working outdoors in temperatures approaching 120ºF
- Record and track warehouse inventory movements.
- Plan and issue instructions for loading and unloading.
- Perform physical inventory counting.
- Handle inter-office duties and reports, supporting other sections of Material warehouse.
- Operate company within the culture, laws and environment of Qatar.
- Responsible for all aspects of team safety within the warehouse.
- Maintain effective team communications.
- Perform other duties in addition to regular duties as and when required


Ideally you will have a High School degree or equivalent.

Formal computer training or a minimum of 2 years' experience using word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail.

3 years' work experience as a Store Keeper/Inventory Controller in a petrochemical plant.

Worked in Computerized Management System. (MS Office Applications)

You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as, a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office.

You will need excellent communication and presentation skills in both written and verbal English.

B-Lower secondary education

Minimum level of experience required

3 years or more


English (C-Professional working proficiency)
