Job description

SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is looking for profiles to fill the position of Risk Management Specialist. 

The incumbent is required to:

Risk & Mitigation

  • Represent PPM in all coordination activities between Major Projects and other entities: Review of planning & work progress, drilling work program, FOPs work program, other project work program etc.
  • Act as focal for alignment of priorities with internal clients (QA, Eng, HSE, C&P, FOPS, Drilling, Tech Log, etc.):
  • Interface with other entities on the challenges of prompt execution in the initial phases to support successful outcomes.
  • Follow up with projects on developing issues and matters arising from coordination meetings with internal clients
    Propose mitigation means / solutions for interface issues resolution
  • Identification of Project related risks with proposals for mitigations, and recovery measures.
  • Identification and development of KPIs for project Risks
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans.
  • Support project managers in implementing risk management plans.
  • Maintain documentation on risk management processes and outcomes.
  • Monitor and report risk exposure and risk burndown trends (qualitative and trend-based).
  • Supports audits (internal/external), PJC reviews, QA/QC, and methodology improvements.

Performance Management

  • Use Project Definition Rating Index from PR2 to identify the Milestones and LDs into contracts or Items to be instructed via a Scope Change Notice (internal to Company) / Change Order Instruction (To Contractor).
  • Ensure that project performance KPIs / objectives consider potential risks and opportunities.
  • Data-driven insights from risk assessments inform performance strategies directly schedule and or costs or less margin.
  • Identify how the PPM & project can respond proactively to emerging threats and uncertainties, continuously analysing lookahead.
  • Benefit analysis -balance risk-taking with the achievement of long-term objectives, faster decisions


Provide support and resources for projects

  • Propose support to projects to create/improve their processes and procedures.

 

Improve and learn from experience

  • Gather and share lesson learned from projects Nigeria regarding project performance including project benchmarks with Onetech and PJC.
  • Share regular feedback with local contractors to better work together from one project to another.

Profile

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Risk Based Performance Management shall ensure that Project Teams are making best use of previous FEED/CFT analysis such as Project Review 2 findings, qualifications, PDRI, CSRA and formulate updated Project Actions Plans for Projects to review.

 

HSE OBJECTIVES

  • HSE Leadership Demonstrate exemplary HSE behaviour within the engineering function, ensuring compliance with TEPNG HSE rules and prompt reporting of any unsafe act, condition, or incident.
  • Safety-by-Design Identify, assess, and mitigate HSE risks through engineering design and technical decisions across all project phases.
  • HSE Competency Ensure engineering personnel are trained, competent, and aware of their HSE responsibilities, with continuous monitoring.
  • HSE Support & Engagement Support Project HSE objectives through engineering reviews and proactively promote HSE awareness, escalating engineering-related HSE concerns as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Certification required for the position: Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Specific knowledge required for the position: Proficiency in use of MS Office Suite, SAP and Primavera P6 (monte-Carlo), Safran.
  • Level of experience required for the position: Ten (10) years of experience with a sound oil and gas technical background in onshore, offshore and deep offshore activities.
  • PMBOK, PMP, Kaizen and/or Lean Management belt would be a plus.
