Job description

 The Project Leader - Maintenance and Inspection Engineering, part of the APM (asset Performance Management department) ensures the set up and the management of the project assigned to him/her in order to ensure project performance while maintaining the highest standard in terms of QHSE.

He/She is responsible for the execution of the contract in terms of scope, schedule and budget.


 1. Comply with and ensure compliance with QHSE rules, instructions and procedures in force at SPIE OGS

 2. Guarantor of the Application of HSE rules in place in the project

 3. Manages equipment & human resources necessary for the project execution.

  • Defines the responsibilities of each project function or individuals according to project needs
  • Is in charge of PROJECT execution follow-up (milestones, progress reports, quality assurance)
  • Keep the relevant Manager informed of the progress on tasks that have been assigned
  • Prepare and Present internal Progress Meeting Report (QHSE/Technical/contractual/financial/Manpower)
  • Prepare and/or check Engineering deliverables and any Reports as per contractual requirements
  • Ensures that Organization of the PROJECT correspond to PROJECT needs and alerts N+1 Management when changes have to be put in place.
  • Is responsible for the Logistics of the personnel on the PROJECT (for instance, trips to Customer site…)
  • Manage a team of Lead Engineers or a team of discipline engineers assigned to a project
  • Liaise with Document Controllers and Support Staff
  • Provide management of the team in regard to progress and reporting
  • Use of proprietary software applications and tools for project control and reporting

 4. Responsible for project Profitability

  • Reviews and understand contractual, technical, commercial schedule and budget requirement of the Contract
  • Establishes with APM Department Manager the PROJECT budget according to the resources/manhours required to perform effectively the project
  • Ensures Control and Expenses Follow up 
  • Prepares the Proforma/invoice with Financial department
  • Proposes improvements in order to generate change orders and increase profitability
  • Negotiates change orders and prepares PROJECT amendment with Legal Department
  • Ensures PROJECT Feedback

 5. Manage Customer relationship for the following aspects: technical, commercial, administrative and financial.

  • Is Responsible for Customer reporting
    -       Issues regularly Customer Satisfaction Surveys and action plan based on the results
    -       Identifies opportunities and measures customer satisfaction
    -       Ensures that Invoices are paid in due time by the Customer
    -       Participates in Meetings requested by Customer

 6. Ensure Support to Tendering/Business Development Activities and participate in the internal development of APM Department

 7. Participates in the Preparation of Maintenance, Inspection, Integrity and SPare Parts Engineering Deliverables



  • Engineering master degree or relevant working experience
  • Fluent in English
  • At Least 10 years Experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical field or any Engineering fields.
  • General knowledge of the equipment, methods and processes used in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical field or Maintenance Engineering environment.
  • PROJECT management skills
  • HSE Culture / Ethics & Quality orientation
  • Team Management skills
  • PMP Certificate is a plus
  • Familiar with ISO 55 000/ISO 14224/API is a plus


  • Operational experience in oil production / engineering
  • Project Management experience in APM (at least 2 projects)
  • Development of technical solutions in operational context
  •  Experience with at least two of Key Domain of APM (RCM/RBI/SCE/Spare Part /CMMS)
