Job description
SPIE Global Services Energy is currently looking for a Compressor Specialist Engineer to join its work force in Angola.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review compressor maintenance strategies, equipment history, operating hour requirements, reliability findings, annual plans, backlog, and campaign requirements to identify preparation needs and execution risks.
- Prepare detailed work packs and readiness plans for centrifugal, reciprocating, screw, or package compressors as applicable, including inspections, overhauls, seal replacements, valve works, lubrication systems, coolers, auxiliaries, and control-related interfaces.
- Define task sequence, manpower, duration, special tools, lifting requirements, isolation requirements, access needs, alignment checks, preservation, testing, leak checks, functional testing, recommissioning, and close-out requirements.
- Identify and validate OEM spare parts, seal kits, bearings, filters, gaskets, lubricants, valves, instrumentation items, repair kits, special tools, test equipment, lifting accessories, and consumables required for compressor scopes.
- Coordinate vendor/OEM technical clarifications, field service requirements, intervention procedures, service reports, repair recommendations, mobilization documentation, and offshore readiness prerequisites.
- Follow up PRs, POs, long-lead items, repair/exchange logistics, vendor mobilization, workshop interfaces, warehouse readiness, and shipment preparation for compressor interventions.
- Support warehouse verification, preservation checks, segregation, bagging, tagging, boxing, packing lists, and shipment readiness for compressor materials, components, and tools.
- Interface with rotating equipment, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, operations, reliability, HSE, procurement, logistics, marine, OEMs, and offshore teams to ensure compressor scopes are fully integrated into campaign and routine execution plans.
- Support offshore execution by monitoring progress, resolving technical issues, assessing deviation impacts, reviewing vendor reports, tracking findings, and creating follow-up work orders or material requests from accepted recommendations.
- Compressor maintenance preparation dossiers, compressor work packs, OEM readiness trackers, spare parts and special tool matrices, long-lead procurement trackers, mobilization readiness checklists, execution support reports, vendor report follow-up registers, and post-intervention action trackers.
Profile
Engineering degree or equivalent senior technical qualification in mechanical, rotating equipment, turbomachinery, or related discipline, with demonstrable experience in compressor maintenance planning, troubleshooting support, and major interventions in oil and gas, preferably FPSO or offshore environments. Experience with OEM-supported compressor packages, including Baker Hughes/GE, Solar, MAN, Dresser-Rand, or equivalent equipment, is strongly preferred.
