Job description
SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is currently looking for Pipeline & Cable Design Engineer to join its work force in Nigeria.
JOB PURPOSE:
The Pipeline Engineer is responsible for the design, engineering, and technical monitoring of onshore pipelines, from the Detailed Engineering through construction and commissioning.
He/She ensure the technical, regulatory, and HSE compliance of the infrastructure, while respecting project deadlines, budgets, and requirements.
ACTIVITIES:
Engineering
- Supervise pipeline studies (layout, sizing, material selection, corrosion protection...).
- Verify technical deliverables (design philosophies, calculation notes, technical specifications, MTO / datasheets, …).
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (ASME, DNV, ISO, local standards…).
Interfaces & coordination
- Coordinate interfaces with other disciplines (Civil engineering, Process engineering, Instrumentation, Construction).
- Participate in technical reviews and coordination meetings.
Anticipate operational interfaces (clashes, scheduling conflicts) before and during the construction phase.
Construction
- Providing technical support during (manufacturing, transport, welding, installation, testing (hydrotest), commissioning...)
- Respond to technical clarifications and manage technical deviations.
Participate in site inspections and technical audits.
Change management
- Analyze the technical impacts of the modifications (Method of Concept).
- Propose optimized and documented solutions.
- Contribute to the technical and economic justification of the changes.
- Prevent change orders and delays related to technical matters

- Oil and gas pipeline design
- Good knowledge of pipeline international standards
- Corrosion, coatings, isolation
