Job description

Role Overview:
The NGU Operator is responsible for the safe operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of the Nitrogen Generation Unit (NGU 1000) and its auxiliary equipment (booster compressor, high-pressure compressor, diesel generator) during site operations in Iraq.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor the NGU 1000, ensuring nitrogen purity and flow targets are met.
  • Start, stop, and adjust the NGU and auxiliary compressors (B13-63/5000, XRVS 1050) as per operational requirements.
  • Perform routine checks on system pressures, temperatures, and flow rates.
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting and first-line maintenance on the NGU, compressors, and generator.
  • Ensure correct air pretreatment and monitor filter conditions.
  • Record operational data and report anomalies or alarms.
  • Coordinate with site supervisors and maintenance teams for advanced repairs.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and site procedures.

Profile

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience operating membrane-based nitrogen generation units or similar process equipment.
  • Familiarity with high-pressure air/nitrogen compressors and diesel generators.
  • Ability to interpret technical datasheets and operational manuals.
  • Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of safety standards for non-hazardous and high-pressure systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in remote site conditions.
  • English proficiency (written and spoken); Arabic is a plus
     

Technical Environment:

  • NGU 1000: Up to 1000 SCFM N₂ at 95–99% purity, 340 PSI membrane inlet, containerized, DNV certified.
  • Booster Compressor (B13-63/5000): 3-stage, up to 345 BAR, 1200 CFM, CAT C13 engine, smart controller.
  • High Pressure Compressor (XRVS 1050): 25 BAR, 1050 SCFM, CAT C13 engine.
  • Diesel Generator (GP110DZ): 100 kVA, Deutz engine, 510 L fuel tank.
