Analyst, Cost Management
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and managing organizational costs to ensure financial efficiency, regulatory compliance, and alignment with company objectives. The role will support budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization, inventory analysis, and financial reporting activities while providing valuable insights to management for strategic decision-making
Key Responsibilities
Cost Management & Financial Planning
- Act as the focal point for all cost management-related matters within the organization.
- Monitor, track, and manage daily cost control activities and periodic reporting deliverables.
- Develop and maintain annual cost management plans, financial models, and forecasting tools.
- Establish and continuously improve cost management procedures, frameworks, and best practices.
- Contribute to the development of cost planning methodologies, guidelines, and financial models.
- Develop and coordinate seamless processes from financial planning through annual budgeting cycles.
- Lead the preparation and consolidation of group, parent company, and subsidiary cost budgets.
- Maintain a comprehensive view of historical trends and future projections for costs and inventory balances.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting
- Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities across departments.
- Review budget submissions to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with corporate standards.
- Prepare monthly cost performance reports, variance analyses, and gap-to-target assessments.
- Deliver financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting information to management and key stakeholders.
- Support strategic business decisions through detailed ad hoc financial and cost analyses.
- Provide monthly KPI reporting and trend analysis related to operational costs and inventories.
Stakeholder Management & Business Support
- Conduct regular meetings with department heads, management teams, and finance stakeholders to review cost performance and initiatives.
- Collaborate with business units to obtain the necessary data and assumptions for budget preparation.
- Drive cross-functional alignment on cost objectives, assumptions, and performance expectations.
- Facilitate monthly cost and inventory review meetings to challenge variances and identify cost improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate internal and external benchmarking exercises to identify efficiencies and cost optimization opportunities.
Cost Optimization & Cash Management
- Monitor and support cash preservation and cost reduction initiatives across the organization.
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and improved financial performance.
- Perform gap-to-potential analyses and recommend corrective actions to management.
Profile
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Experience
- 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in Cost Management, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Budgeting, or Finance.
- Experience within the Fertilizer, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, or Industrial Manufacturing sector is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, inventory valuation, and financial analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good working knowledge of Power BI and dashboard development.
Strong understanding of financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes. - Experience with SAP S/4HANA financial and cost management modules.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
